Pinwheel Quilt

mein Pinwheel Quilt gemacht aus einem Jelly Roll ( 2,5 inch breiten Streifen) und Hintergrundstoff. Die Anleitung poste ich morgen ;-))

mit den übriggebliebenen scraps die ich in die Rückseite eingefügt habe ( man sieht dass es nicht viele waren ;-))

Den Quilt habe ich mit meiner Hausmaschine gequilted und glaubt mir, Handquilting ist da wesentlichr bequemer denn ich hatte wahnsinnige Schmerzen nach dem Quilten...

I quilted with my domestic sewing machine and after all I had pain in my shouldres, hand quilting is better but I wanted to test how inconvenient machine quilting can be.lol

Bow Tie Quilts

Jetzt kann ich euch die Quilts zeigen die ich als Geschenke gemacht und an die "Geburi-Kinder" weiter gereicht habe.

Ich habe meinen Louisa Jelly Roll ( designed von Terry Thompson) bis zum letzten kleinen scrap "vernichtet"

I had " killed " the "Louisa" Jelly Roll designed by Terry Thompson to the last scrap!!

Ich habe 2 Tischläufer mit Sternen gemacht:
I've made 2 star tablerunners and saved Bonus half square triangle units:




Einen Tischläufer mit Fliegen:
one tablerunner with the bow tie blocks:

Die Idee für meinen Bonus Quilt habe ich im Buch vom Kim Diehl "Simple Traditions" gefunden"

war sehr einfach zu nähen/ it was very easy to sew



meine Blöcke sind nur 5 1/2 "( mit Nahtzugabe) groß und bestehen aus 28 Teilen:
my Blocks are only 5 1/2" large ( seam allowance is included) and contains 28 pieces:








und fertig:

27" x 27" (der kleine Quilt beinhaltet 588 Teile!!!/ this small quilt contains 588 pieces!!!)




Ich liebe es die kleinen "Übrigbleibser" anstatt aufzubewaren zu verarbeiten ;-)))

I love to work with the leftovers, don't want to put them somewhere into the box, it's better to use them up if possible.

wieder da, I'm back

so...die Ferien sind vorbei, die Kids gehen wieder in die Schule oder in den Kindergarten. Ich hoffe ihr habt alle wunderschöne Osterzeit gehabt!

the school break is finally over, the kids are going into the school or kindergarten again now. I hope you all had a wonderful easter time.





Unsere Große feierte ihren 7- ten Geburi.

Our oldest daughter celebrated her 7th birthday ;-)))


..und ich habe zwischendurch an einer Sommerdecke gearbeitet, wie man einfach dieses Blöckchen nähen kann werde ich demnächst posten. Ein neues Projekt für e. Jelly Roll oder 2,5 inch breite Streifen. Nächste Woche müsste die Anleitung fertig sein. ;-)))

...and I have worked on a new Sommer quilt for a while, if you want to know how easy it is to sew this block and make a lovely Pinwheel quilt ...you will need only one jelly roll and background fabric ( or 2,5 " strips)..so come next week again and watch me sewing...;-))) ( hope to finish my tutorial then)

Sterntischläufer, Star tablerunner Tutorial

Hätte einer von euch Lust einen Sternentischläufer zu nähen? Um das Nähabenteuer zu starten brauchst du nur einige Streifen deines Jelly Rolls!

hm...warum liebe ich die Set B Lineale von Marti Michell so sehr? Die sind sehr einfach zu handhaben und perfect um schnell mit den Jelly Roll Streifen zu arbeiten!
Um die Sterne zu nähen wird dir aber ein inch Lineal vollkommen ausreichen und nebenbei bekommst du auch gleich fertiggenähte Bonus -Halbdreiecke für dein nächstes Projekt.

Why do I love my Marti Michell Templates Set B??? Because they are easy to use and great for playing with the jelly rolls! It's no matter if you don't have them at home, you will need only your inch ruler to sew the stars and to receive bonus half square triangles for another project!


der Läufer hat eine Größe/ finished size: 23 " x 47" ( 58 cm x 119 cm)

fertige Größe eines Blocks ohne Nahtzugabe: 8" ( 8,5" mit 1/4" Nz )
Block finished size without seam allowence: 8 " ( 8,5" with 1/4" seam allowance)

für die 4 Gänse schneide 8 Quadrate 2,5 " x 2,5"
for the 4 flying geeses cut 8 squares 2,5 " x 2,5 "



und 4 Streifen / and 4 strips 2,5 " x 4,5"



auf der Rückseite der 8 Quadrate zeichne eine Diagonale in der Mitte und eine zweite in einem Abstand von etwas weniger als 1,4"

on the backside the 8 squares draw in the middle a diagonal line and then a second line , keep the distance a little bit smaler than 1/4"

die mittlere Linie ist die Nählinie:
sew along the middle line::


an der zweiten Linie gleite mit dem linken Abstand des Füßchens und nähe, denn die zweite Linie dient nur der Orientierung, entlang der zweiten Linie wird später geschnitten.

schneide an der zweiten Linie:

tadaaaaaa!!!

nun schneide dein Bonusquadrat zurück auf die Größe von /trim two half square triangles to : 1 3 /4 inch x 1 3/4"


tadaaaaa:
4 Gänse und 8 Bonus aneinander genähte halbe Dreiecke!!
4 flying geeses and 8 bonus two half square triangles!

für die Mitte des Sterns schneide, for the star center cut: 4 x 2,5" x 2/5 "




für die Ecken des Blocks/ for the edges of your block cut
4 x 2,5" x 2,5"




benötigt werden 10 Sterne:
you will need 10 stars:


schneide 2 Quadrate / cut 2 squares 9 " x 9"

teile in the mitte:
cut in the middle:



arrangiere deine Blöcke und nähe alles aneinander.
arange your blocks and sew all together:




und fertig!
